Hi bmc, yes, the cable looks good, I also took it of and touched it - pump still goes. When I open the group the brew pressure drops, yes. and when I do that almost no water comes back through the returning hose to the water tank (when the group is closed the a constant stream of water comes back through the hose into the watertank). So to me it looks like the boiler is filled, but also drained at the same rate.
