You're kidding, right? You're saying that the government should do what it
feels is right, without informing the public about what they're doing.
You're telling the government "do whatever you like, no need to ask us what
we think of it, we're sure you'll do the right things".
If deals that affect the entire country (that includes you, John!) should
be made behind closed doors, what's the use of holding democratic
elections? You might as well appoint one person Dictatorial President And
Sole Ruler for life.

Heck, that might even be better than democracy: you'll still get a
government that doesn't care about the people (so no change there), and as
a bonus you'll save an awful lot of money that would otherwise be wasted on
the whole election process (from campaigning to the media show called
inauguration).
