Now, while Blue Mars is definitely a drag, you owe it to yourself to get
through Red Mars.   IMHO, Red Mars has the best payoff of an ending that I
have ever read.   (Unless, of course, you count "Heaven's Reach" as the
payoff for "Startide Rising.")   Still, its one hell of ending - if you can
just get there.
