How about scooters? I think that they would be great second vehicles
for around the town use. And besides you can get 80 - 100 mpg out of
the little wheezers.
I myself am thinking about a motorcycle.... a nice Husqvarna
dual-sport. If I can't go out and get it good and dirty, it is
worthless. No Harleys or crotch-rockets.
Tools of choice:
Land Rover Discovery (yes, I use it)
Subaru Justy rally car/beater
Giant mountain bike in need of replacement.
Another way of saving fuel...work as close to home as possible. My
commute is 20 min walking, 5 min driving. This allows us to refuel
the Rover once a month. Julie works out of the house.
