Just counting from the bed, my husband's is shorter. But the detour
downstairs to eat breakfast adds an awful lot to it. (But if he isn't
feeling well, goes to lie down on the bed, and gets back up, then if he
wakes up feeling a lot better, the trip back to work is laughably short.
Distance from bed to computer is comparable to distance from bed to
nearest toilet.)
When I was working, I was telecommuting for the most part, and I probably
had the worst commute from the bed to the desk so far -- length of the
upstairs, down the stairs, then from the front of the house to the back of
the house, and 2-3 more meters after all that.... But if I showered
before coming down, I didn't have to go back up after breakfast, at least.

who will offer serious advice to anyone who is about to be in the
situation of having 2 household members telecommuting; it's not the
easiest thing in the world, but once you work out the bugs, it can be
great
