When I went to Colorado in '99, I took my parents' Taurus with me (since I
had really messed up my own car just one week after getting it, and one
week before leaving.) I didn't have a tent at the time, but the Taurus
proved very convenient for cross-country travel. I could basically drive
until it was dark, and then find a place to park and roll out my sleeping
bag in the back seat-trunk. Its all you really need, really.
