I also think that the term SUV is being badly misused.
A Subaru Forester is an SUV. A Volvo V70 All-Road is an SUV. The BMW X5 and
the Toyota RAV4 are SUVs.
A Land-Rover Discovery, a Nissan Patrol and a Ford Explorer are offroaders.
They are not road cars with the ability to get across a muddy field (the
definition of an SUV), they are vehicles capable of crossing the Himalayas
or the Sahara. Using them as your primary mode of transport in cities is
stupid and irresponsible.
