I didn't have a big problem with the movie, but I was never entirely
enamored with X-Files to begin with, so that might color my judgement.
No, I wasn't watching regularly anyway; any episode that started to look
like the main story arc tended to get blown off in the first 10 minutes.
:) (Stand-alone episodes, where you'd just appreciate them a little
better if you knew the characters of Mulder and Scully, were OK. And the
Lone Gunmen were amusing when we saw them.)
I stopped watching when I heard from a friend that Scully had gotten
pregnant. She was a big fan, and that was just too much for *her*, so I
figured I wouldn't enjoy it so well. And I caught pieces of some of the
episodes this year, and decided I wasn't missing anything.
There are a few episodes that I really like, though. I want a DVD with
"Postmodern Prometheus" on it someday when it's available. And, I know,
someone's going to be all over me for liking that one and point out what's
wrong with it and everything -- but it was an entertaining stand-alone
story, and I liked the ending. (Then again, I'm a sucker for the song
that was used at the end of that one -- just like I'm a sucker for Dire
Straits.)
