Well given the almost instantaneous correlation of Castro changing his
position on upholding the Constitution of 1948 and Castro coming to power,
it seems highly unlikely that he was somehow convinced by new evidence to
change his mind during that time. Thus, he must have chosen
totalitarianism at some prior time, while still publicly espousing the
Constitution of 1948.
