Even in India, you are discharged from the hospital withing 24 hours of the 
delivery [barring complications, of course]. The reason has less to do with 
the cost of hospitalization [any good hospital charges around USD 10 per 
night]and more to do with the fact that hospitals tend to have infections 
floating around. :o)
