All those individuals that bought a computer that came with some version of 
Windows installed, whether those individuals wanted it or not.

Those same individuals again, or at least those among them that don't want 
to use Windows but some other OS.

Someone posted that Windows XP will not support Java. Further, MS announced 
some time ago that Windows XP will not support the USB-2 standard.

I don't think those decisions were dictated to them by the public. Just 
like the public didn't dictate to MS that they should build crappy security 
into their OS.
