Just saw gas at $6.00 a gallon in a Columbus suburb - and people are paying
for it. The lines at the stations are 35 and 40 cars deep, at every pump.

Going from $18.00 for a tank of gas to $75 for a tank of gas will have a
significant financial impact on many people. The oil companies are just
asking for government regulation by doing this.

I think that Dan is right, this is on the verge of war profiteering.

My feeling is, that the oil companies hope to take advantage of the
increased road travel that will occur this week as a result of the planes
being grounded, much like they take advantage of holiday travel

Several of the stations here in Delaware Ohio have signs on the pump that
they are accepting cash only. They make it even more difficult.

Even at it worst, gas was NEVER $6.00 a gallon during the Gulf war, and that
WAS a direct threat to gas production.
