Jeroen, I am sure that your intention was not to minimize what happened, but
I am also sure that I don't have to say that what happened yesterday goes
far, far, far beyond an "angry response". It does not matter who or what we
support. It does not matter if we are right or wrong. The fact is, the
attack yesterday was aimed specifically at non-combatants, and was
infinitely out of proportion to anything we have done so far. Regardless of
our policies or positions, we (the US) do not intentionally harm
non-combatants.
Even during the Gulf War, the allies made at least some attempt to avoid
unnecessary civilian casualties, where as the attack yesterday was intended
to cause civilian casualties.
The most dangerous animal on this Earth is a religious fanatic that is
willing to die for his cause.
