I do. If you wilfully don't understand your enemy you give up your
best tool for defeating him. Terrorism is an idea, a very sick idea
born of desperation, hopelessness, and idealism. The only way to
truly defeat terrorism is to defeat the idea of terrorism. You can't
defeat an idea if you don't understand it.
