I've been burned on this once already, Jeroen - you are neglecting the
possibility of low-yield tactical nuclear weapons.

In the case of an isolated, purely military target (say the equivalent of a
military base in Nevada - which probably does not mean much to you, but
most Americans will recognize it as an incredibly isolated place) a nuclear
response might be considered.

World War III? Not particularly likely. There is no one out there
capable of engaging in a World War with the United States. This War will
be something completely different.

Indeed we do.

The President put it very succinctly - this was an attack on freedom
itself. Note, not just the United States, but freedom itself.

And today, NATO agreed as all member countries unanimously consented to the
first-ever activation of Article V of the North Atlantic Treaty. Like it
or not, Jeroen, but the Netherlands are now at war alongside the United
States.
