Forgive me, but all I can think of is "Mickey Mouse for Muslims." (Guess
"Barney for Bhuddists" should be volume 2.)

Well, it *would* increase awareness, and probably racial tolerance. If we
can convince the producers that it would have an audience, I'd bet they would
go for it. But I'm not sure they'd be convinced on demographics alone.

The CIA factbook lists the following stats for the US.:

Ethnic groups: white 83.5%, black 12.4%, Asian 3.3%, Amerindian 0.8% (1992)
note: a separate listing for Hispanic is not included because the US Census
Bureau considers Hispanic to mean a person of Latin American descent
(especially of Cuban, Mexican, or Puerto Rican origin) living in the US who
may be of any race or ethnic group (white, black, Asian, etc.)
Religions: Protestant 56%, Roman Catholic 28%, Jewish 2%, other 4%, none 10%
(1989)

Considering that Islam probably falls somewhere into the 4% category of
"other" under religions, you'd probably have more luck convincing a producer
to run an Asian show than an Islamic one.

A *documentary* on Islam, Islamic countries and their people would probably
do very well here. (Well, maybe not this week.)
