<< ..and I suppose the assasination of the most capable leaders they can
manage to scrape up isn't a problem at all.. >>
Israel is at war, and has been since the very first day of its existence.
Suppose you live for 50 years next to an implacable enemy before you get so
self-righteous about a tiny country of historically persecuted people who are
desperately trying to survive constant, ceaseless assaults.
I don't approve of the assassinations, either, but how come you never scream
at the suicide bombers? And what makes some of these terrorists "the most
capable leaders"?
The ironic thing is, the Palestinians envy the Israelis their vibrant
democracy, which is something Arafat would never dare offer his own people.
The really sad thing is, the Israelis and Palestinians should be friends,
since they have a lot in common (not the least of which is, the other Arab
countries hate both almost equally).
Let's not pretend that targeting a few people - who, remember, chose to put
themselves in the line of fire - is the same as setting off a bomb in a
crowded civilian area.
