This is simply false. The US has *NEVER* decided not to give food.
Indeed, the US set up a program called "oil for food", allowing Iraq to
legally get around the oil embargo for the sake of buying food, medicine,
and other humanitarian essentials.
The problem, however, is that Iraq buys the humanitarian essentials under
US/UN supervision, then rather than give the humanitarian essentials to its
starving, impoverished people, it seels these on the black market in order
to finance additional palaces for Saddam Hussein. I think that he's built
at least *three* new palaces since sanctions were in place.
But of course, its the US that's starving the Iraqi people.
Come on now, Jeroen, are you really so easily fooled?
I'm beginning to think that if someone started telling you that the US puts
Iraqi children in their soup, we'd be hearing about that criticism on the
Brin List in short order.......
