Anyone make their own beer or know people who do? I saw this contraption in a magazine and am tempted to buy one to try it out. http://www.beermachine.com I've only had two homemade brews and they both were awful, but they were brew-in-a-bucket types, the makers had to do everything over the course of three months, then bottle it themselves. One problem I see: while they advertise 20 different flavors they are just variations on three themes: lager, pilsner, and ale. (Then again I don't know how many different types there are). There are really only 2 kinds of beer, Lager and Ale. Everything else is variations on a theme. In America we drink a cold Lager. Europe Prefers a warmer Ale. Unless you have a refrigerator to make beer you are stuck with making an Ale. Hard to get that good Lager flavor at home without refigeration unless you make it strictly in the winter. > On a whim I once ordered a bock and thought it was the best tasting beer I ever had. Of course I didn't remember the name brand and the few bocks I've tried since were as bad as the homemade ones I had. I suggest you research it a bit more to decide whether you really want to devote time and resources to such a project. Beer doesnt brew itself. There is some work involved. I worked in a Budwieser brewery for a few months (electrical work) and it was easy to see that the beer came out od because they were careful to follow the recipe and follow each step religiously. xponent Miller High Life Maru rob
