Interesting articles indeed.  I liked the conclusion of the Post 
article:

"...one young woman in the class asked a question I've never been 
able to answer: "Why don't they do this kind of game with the 
leaders of the countries so they won't let it happen?"

Now that, my dear general, would be a jolly good idea.
