That *would* be easy. :)
I guess I'm fortunate to have at my disposal a specialty bookstore that
got in a number of copies, and whose employees would have been more than
happy to special-order a copy for me if they had run out before I got
there.
I don't know what your brick-and-mortar bookstore situation is like
where you are to offer advice as to where to go. If you wanted to order
from a small independent bookstore that does mail order and could use
the business, Adventures in Crime and Space (www.crimeandspace.com)
would be happy to ship you a copy. But that wouldn't get it to you any
faster than amazon.com would, I'm sure.

I laugh at 20-book stacks. I have a list of unread books that would
fill 2 or 3 bookcases here easy. I don't have very many over 800 pages
on that list, though. Probably less than 10 fiction books fall into
*that* category.
(What with things going out of print oddly, if I find an author or
series I like, I get my hands on whatever paperbacks by that author that
I can, while I still can, before I'm reduced to scouring used bookstores
for months on end at a later time, or relying on on-line used
bookdealers. Then there's the "X recommended this, so I should get it
and read it" group, which is a bunch of unread stuff as well. Add
Christmas and birthday presents from people related to me who think I
ought to read book Z, and it all adds up.)

other novels on the "to read" list, including one she bought last week
because it was *there*
