Actually, I just don't need Yet Another Unread Book to depress me. 
Seattle weather is doing a good enough job as is.

Ah, but Julia, I'm not counting the books on my amazon.com wishlist, or
the 5 crates back east in my parent's basemnet... 

I actually stopped reading fiction for the past 4-5 months,
concentrating on "important" books - reading quite a bit about military
history again, evolution, stuff like that.  The fiction books on my list
are all DH Lawrence & Henry Miller stuff - nothing "easy"
