So... in an attempt to stay in business they're trying to become profitable

Apparently, *something* about it compels you to stay with their service. 
What is it? You're probably not the only one.

Sounds like they give you the first (couple thousand) hit(s) for free then 
start charging you once you're hooked. I've heard of that strategy used 
somewhere before in a successful way.
