"Hosting a Web site on your computer using the Apache Web Server Software.

Open System Preferences, click Sharing, click the File & Web tab, and turn
on Web Sharing.

Web pages you put in your Sites folder (in your home folder) can be browsed
at http://your.computer.address/~yourusername/

Use your short user name, and include the ending slash (/).

Pages you put on your hard disk in Library/WebServer/Documents can be
browsed at http://your.computer.address

To find your computer's address, look at the bottom of the Sharing pane of
System Preferences.

To learn more, use a browser to open index.html in your Sites folder or look
in /Library/WebServer/Documents/Manual."

Unless of course you are using an *inferior* operating system...
