I had a similar experience.  I went to a conference in Midland, which is not
quite in a desert but close.  It got over 100 in mid-June, but it wasn't
that bad. Much better than mid-90s in Houston.

When it gets in the hundreds here, with the high humidity, it is so
depressing.
