If I had to choose between Arizona and, say Alabama (sorry Steve) I'd have to 
take the desert, but I'd be miserable in either case.  I love weather in the mid 
60s (low 20s C ?) and don't mind overcast or rain as long as its not too 
frequent.  One thing I love about Ca. is the paucity of biting insects. 
Mosquitos are relatively rare.
