CAT 5 is rated to support 10BaseT and 100BaseT ethernet, which is what most 
ethernet cards and hubs/switches use today, but you might want to consider 
CAT5E (the E stands for Enhanced).  It is rated to handle 1000BaseT.  Just 
in interest of staying non-obsolete a little longer... :-)
