Not so in The Netherlands. You can only be fired for reasons that are
directly related to your performance and behaviour. You can be fired for not
doing your job properly, for gross misbehaviour (such as assault and theft),
but not for being a neo-Nazi or for speaking your mind. As long as it does
not interfere with your work, you can call yourself a Creationist Fascist
Ninja Jedi Knight Overlord Who Believes The World Is Flat or anything else
you like without having to fear losing your job over it.

In job interviews, employers are not even *allowed* (with few exceptions) to
ask about your political and religious beliefs (or about several other
personal matters).

I think it is. Like any other entity in a country, it is bound by the laws
of that country.
