"Do not try, do" is just about the same as "do not use similes, use metaphors" [unless a simile is more appropriate, as in the last time I used it, which is why you wrote this particular message that I'm responding to]. Confused yet? Metaphor good. Simile bad. Breaking rules sometimes leads to greater brilliance, depending on the context of your purpose. Brookida [that is, Michael Harney] that means if you meant 'style is like water', a better rephrasing would be "the liquid measure of your steps". The diff is *huge*, but notice that metaphors are not variables in the sense that they're containers, but they're variables in that they are significant in the proportion of the reader. That is, they are RINGS OF POWER. Blahblahblah.
