Maybe it is because I am an eternal optimist, and believe that (even though all the odds are against me), there is still something of a chance (however remote) that I can help him recognise the error of his ways and the wrongs of his views.
Although I must admit that, as time passes by, it is beginning to look more and more like a lost battle...
