You know, I still hold fast to my belief that the good Doctor manages to spectacularly 
miss the point of LotR.  It may be fun to watch the refinement of his concept, and 
it's an interesting analysis that I will probably reread in the coming days and give 
mroe thought to because of my respect for him, but I disagree with what I feel makes 
up the inner mechanism of his analysis.

At its core, LotR is about the little guy standing up and doing what's right.  Gandalf 
and Aragorn don't defeat Sauron.  A hobbit does.
