What I recall reading was milk proteins complexing with the phytochemicals, so it is possible that soy proteins would do the same, but since soy also contains flavanoids/isoflavones, maybe not. (The only article that mentioned both in a flash Medline search was looking at the compounds in soy and green tea that are perceived as bitter by a certain segment of the population <raises hand>.)
