And that is one of the choices Gautam refers to. Planning ahead to
protect yourself is prudent and serious; not doing so is a choice.
Actually, we have been planning ahead to protect ourselves; defending ourselves is exactly why we built our military. That is the main difference between Europe and the US: we built our military to defend our borders, while the US built its military to force its will upon the rest of the world. We did not built our military for the purpose of assisting the US in its quest for world domination.

Actually, our military forces are perfectly useful for what we intend them to do: defending our borders. The act of namecalling is reserved for Americans like you who prefer to insult their opponents rather than have a civilised discussion with them.
