Yup. Silicon Valley. Saw an article on it two years ago.

I understand it can also happen in sections of Dallas/Plano etc.

I work in Palo Alto where the _median_ price for a house is (or was last time I checked) well over half a million. And these aren't all spatial palaces either, there are many small bungalow type dwellings in the city. One of the guys I work with's wife is a teacher in PA and she makes between 40 and 50 K. They don't live in PA, needless to say.
