Sounds simple, I would give you more things to chew on.  Simple supply and 
demand is easy enough to beleive.  In the field of healthcare we see salaries 
go up (starting salaries are now about twice when I started)
 and more people want to be a nurse/physical therapist/etc..... then more 
people driven by money go into the professions and the "work ethic 
changes"..... and people complain the profession has changed/is less 
human/thoughtful......ad nauseum.  

Research has always said money alone does not keep people at a job, it is 
often the intangibles.
