I might respond to this further, but I'm not sure it's possible to have a reasonable discussion.
I would ask one thing, though. You criticize the lack of military service in the Bush Administration a great deal. Donald Rumsfeld was an active duty fighter pilot (ROTC at Princeton). I am confused. Did he go to war or just bomb Rutgers? Dick Armitrage was a UDT > > leader in Vietnam (I believe - definitely saw combat). What does UDT mean? > Colin Powell you all know about. And his views are so typical of Bush's inner circle J John McCain is a > war hero of the type that boggles the imagination - he > was probably the most enthusiastic American politician > about the war. Brin's point is not that republicans have been war heroes. It is that the major folks at the white house have not. John McCain is a hero. So what has his take been on the conduct of the war? Even George Bush was a fighter pilot > in the National Guard - not what you choose to do if > you want to avoid all danger. Well it is if your dad gets you jumper over about 500 hundred potential draftees that ended up going to war. It is if you get assigned to Georgia National Guard (or Alabama I forget which) and spend the whole year campaigning for a local republican candidate. His putitive commander does not remember him ever showing up for work. But I forget that was the old reckless drinking and druging George before he got religion You denigrate> Republicans constantly - but _90%_ of American > military officers are Republicans. Once again the denegation is specifically of the white house leadership not republicans in general _______________________________________________ http://www.mccmedia.com/mailman/listinfo/brin-l
