I think that it is important that we debate Iraq and believe that part of the reason that supporters of the administration contribute to the debate is that their position has become so indefensable.



Alternatively, that many people on both sides of the debate have concluded that no one on the other side is even listening to them any more, much less is likely to change his/her mind . . .

(I've seen similar things on other lists wrt other topics.)



All that being said, I agree that there are many other interesting things to discuss and the list has become far too quiet.
