How much control do you think that the terrorists had? While the hijacker pilots did have a bit of training, it's hard to imagine that they would be able to do a much better job of hitting the towers with planes. IIRC, Bin Ladin was surprised when the towers actually fell. I wasn't aware, but there was a path of total destruction, about a tower wide, for 1.5 to 2 blocks away from the WTC.
