Neo-cons are conservatives who tend to focus on America as the world's moral
authority -- applying conservative ideologies in the foreign policy sphere.
They tend to assume that free markets will lead to democracy, that people
naturally want both of those and thus naturally should recognize America as
the moral authority -- and that anyone who doesn't want those things is at
least undisciplined and often evil.

It's not working out so well for them, though you'd hardly know it by the
way they talk.
