I'm confused. What is the point of the European Ultimate Championship Series again? I thought that the point of this was to allow the top European clubs to play against each other in competition every year. My view of the UK ULTIMATE Tour is that it is there to improve the standard of UK Ultimate teams. We have made the (successful, I think) move to split tours, preventing the top teams from having a walkover first day (a shame, to some extent, because I feel that some of my best learning experiences when I started playing Ultimate were in teams walked over by the top teams. I particularly remember scoring on Adam Batchelor in a 15-1 hammering of Bears by Fluid Druids ;-p). Now we seem to be making the move to depriving a team who have earnt their Top 16 position from competition against the Top clubs in the country. Therefore, probably confining them to a walkover first day in B Tour. Having watched The Brown develop from a distance over the past couple of years, I have been extremely impressed with their development, drive and ability and I feel that they are entirely deserving of an A Tour place. Lets leave the European competition for the European competitions and let the best 16 UK teams play in the A Tour of the UK Tour. Oscar FlyghtClub Open Coordinator (my views and not, necessarily, those of my team/teammates.

I for one think it would be a terrific idea if we were to invite on international team for each tour. Maybe we could leave a designated seed for them each time (maybe 4th place?). It would spice things up for a lot of teams who are tired of just beating the crap out of each other every single tour. Finally, this would be a great way to make UK ultimate the focal point of European Ultimate. I'm not proposing being swamped by European team, just one team/tour. I also think that the Women's tour would benefit from this even more than the Open tour. As far as the Big EZ is concerned, they are a very spirited team that performed far beyond expectations last year at the EUCF finishing 4th. Obviously they have had a taste of success and are hungry to improve. I would love to see them at a tour.
