The thing to note about all this foreign team discussion is that the rule has been in force for 3 or 4 years now - there is provision in the official tour rules for visiting foreign teams to be seeded up near the top as is seen fit. There's no point arguing about it, it's in black and white.

On the other hand, if we wanted to change this rule for next season, that might be a more fruitful discussion. As mentioned by someone already, with the advent of EUCS and such, there mightn't be any need for foreign teams to come over and give our top teams more competition/experience/variety.

Do people think that foreign teams should continue to be allowed entry to tour? Or has the rule outlived it's applicability? Or do folk like the 1-per-tour idea?

I think Rob makes some good points and I would support his suggestion.

However the point I'd like to make is that whatever we choose, it should be
consistent and decisions like this should be more transparent.

The first I saw that only 11 teams would qualify from Tour Zero was when
inspecting the schedule; the 11th vs. 12th game was described as a
'qualifier playoff' (or some such similar).

Perhaps there would be less resentment / backlash at such proposals if
people were made completely clear of the situation before the event.
The Nationals / EUCS Qualifier debate would be another example.
