I know Si Hill posted info about foreign teams at nationals but can't
remember if he mentioned anything about the Tour. People are going to have
different opinions on the subject so at the end of the day somebody is
going to end up disapointed. I think that there's one important thing to
bring up here if my memory serves me well, the Tour was originally set up
to improve the level of Ultimate in the UK. No one can argue the organisers
were successful at achieving what they set out to do. The results at
international level go to show. The introduction of the B Tour with
promotion and demotion has added another dimension to the Tour now
improving the level of those teams battling for premier status. I
personally see the introduction of foreign teams as a further step in the
evolution of the Tour. Adding foreign teams will increase the
competitiveness at the top and this will naturally have a ripple effect (or
even snowball effect) all the way down into the lower levels. All in all a
positive result in my opinion. I know it sounds harsh but if you are really
that keen on making top 16, do something about it!
