I kind of think of the issue in 2 parts. The Irish question should really be seperate. They are just now bringing along ultimate in their country and we should do everything we can to help them out. Besides, they've made themselves more than welcome with their incredibly good spirit. Maybe, on a club level, we should even consider combining with them to make it the UKU and Irish ultimate? I mean, come on, a Tour in Dublin?! That would be fantastic! Talk about livening things up a bit.
The other question I think has to do with the more established continental teams. I agree that these countries far from need our helping hand. To be honest, most of these countries were way ahead of the UK 7-8 years ago before we had our 'big bang'. I think that bringing ONLY ONE of them over per tour would be a great boon to competition in the upper levesl as well as keeping things fresh. To me, spirit of the game means being as inclusionary as possible. Our sport is small, we should encourage as many new teams and players at all levels. It will make the sport better for everyone in the end. my 2p, Rob Alpen Clapham ____________________________________________________________________________________ TV dinner still cooling?
