We provide detailed application guidelines on our application checklist (#3)
here that you will want to read:
https://brlcad.org/wiki/Summer_of_Code/Checklist
<https://brlcad.org/wiki/Summer_of_Code/Checklist>

GSoC and open source development in general are very different from classwork
or homework. They’re more like an independent research project.

Anyone is welcome to come chat with us interactively on IRC or Zulip
(preferred) at https://brlcad.zulipchat.com <https://brlcad.zulipchat.com/> …
which is also on the checklist (#2).

Cheers!
Sean
