Turns out it is not my equipment. Several of my neighbors are without internet also. I had to drag it out of the Asian woman that I am not the only one with an outage. Anyway, I am using my phone as a hotspot and it is working well.

Hopefully, they will be out in a few days to fix whatever the problem is.

When I have an outage, I get told by the robot on the telephone support line that "there is an outage in my area" and there is typically an estimated time to repair. I then get an option to receive a telephone call or text message when the failure is corrected.

While I have never once received a call or text telling me that it's working again, the downtime is most easily measured in hours. I don't know how long it was down the last time (I was working on my computer locally and while members of the family noted it, they didn't bother to tell me about it) but it was less than two hours despite the claim that the outage would last all night. The outage started around 9PM last Saturday and was corrected 10:30 or so. (I was still working on my computer locally and nobody bothered to tell me that service had been restored.)

It's Comcast, just like you, so I don't know what the difference is.
