Since 146.94 is pretty much in your back yard you can get away with most
anything. If you want to stay somewhat stealthy take a look at the Ed
Fong DBJ-1 runs $30 plus a 5 foot PVC pipe (that you paint black) I
know several that have it mounted on the back of their TV sat dish. It
is a dual band and works rather well. Another option is the Arrow style
J-pole, the run about $45

Arrow antenna, from Arrow or a hamfest. Easy to build I've built a
couple and have been using one for a few years.

Many choices out there

Even the Diamond X30 would do a good job. 4.5 foot tall with 3.0 on
VHF and 5.5 on UHF. Just make sure your attic does not solar barrier
inside it. Also just for fun where are you located and what repeaters
do you plan on using?

Ps Even before the 34/94 refit that was done awhile ago we were
hitting the 34/94 from Seawolf Park in Galveston with the above
antenna. True it was up 50 feet or so with 50 watts of power........

Subject: [BVARC] 2 meter base antenna
I need suggestions !!! I need a 2 meter home base vertical
antenna. Not to long because of
the dreaded HOA ! Was looking at the Hustler G6-270? I know it's
a dual bander but it is supposed to get 6db gain on both bands,
is 5/8 wave and is only 7.5 ft long. A little longer is ok. Would
like to keep it a one piece if possible but not a necessity.
Please, any suggestions will be considered !!
