I enjoyed museum ships, Several times I bought lunch for the whole thing..I
also donated money to the museum itself ...
I enjoyed time in the submarine radio room, (my wifes (KF5GWZ) father wasa
radioman in a similar sub during wwii...
I enjoy showing non hamswhat goes on in the tiny sub radio room.. Normally the
door is closed and locked but with a ham(s) in there it is open and I had more
fun talking to non hams thanmaking contacts...
Dont give up, there are grouches everywhere!!!

I’ll chime in. I moved here in 2004. I contacted the club but the president at
the time was more involved with the MS 150 support than new member, he actually
told me “he didn’t have the time.”
Fast forward a few years ago, I went to a meeting, mainly I was interested in
Museum Ship Weekend as I operated several years with the Battleship Texas
group. It was enjoyable but the CW guy was a grouch and took the fun out, so I
just stick with my own thing.
