Actually I think there is already a cactus-cvs mailing list but it is redirected to cactus-dev by default (that's what I understood).
IIUC, there's a mail alias for every CVS module, for Cactus it is <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>. That is however not a mailing list that you can subscribe to. This alias currently forwards to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, to have a separate CVS mailing list we'd forward it to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
That said, there are not a lot of commits and I don't think we've
reached the point of saturation. I strongly believe that any Cactus
developer should follow the CVS commits to understand how the project is
progressing. As the dev mailing list is for Cactus developers (and
anyone else interested) I feel it is ok.
Also, we need to consider that the "CVS mails" now also includes the Wiki diffs, which has at least doubled the traffic AFAICT. I personally don't have a problem with having everything on a single mailing list, because I can filter the messages to my hearts content. However, in Digest mode the world looks rather different.
In any case, we are acknowledging Chad's comment on the CVS commit emails. He's the first to raise this issue. I'd prefer waiting and see how other react. If there's a strong demand we'll of course implement this.
Let me add a hint for Chad: just use GNAME for reading the list :-) Stay subscribed to Digest mode, so that you can still post.
