ARIES
A new moon in your fellow fire sign of Leo will get the week off to a flying start,
especially if you are the kind of Aries who is creative or artistic in some way.
Relationships, too, will go well today, so be assertive and dynamic and make sure
others know what it is you desire. In other words, be yourself - only more so.
1-900-990-7810*
TAURUS
You need to be a bit more open about your feelings - make that a lot, if you are the
kind of Taurus who does not like others to know that you are hurting - and today's new
moon will help you. Every now and then, it is good to let things out, to release the
pressure. If you don't, you might just explode!
1-900-990-7811*
GEMINI
A new moon in the most fun-loving area of your solar chart means you can be as
carefree as you please over the next 24 hours and no one will mind. Not that you care
what other people think, but it's nice not to be labeled as fickle or irresponsible,
as so often seems to happen. Life is for living, so live it and have fun!
1-900-990-7812*
CANCER
Keep your eye on the ball and keep telling yourself that the longer you hold out for
what it is you want, the more likely it is you will get it. Today's planetary setup
indicates that it will be your rivals who blink first, so look tough, act tough and be
tough in your approach to all kinds of negotiations, especially those involving money.
1-900-990-7813*
LEO
A new moon in your birth sign suggests that whatever new things you start today will
work out for the best. Don't listen to those people who say you should be cautious.
Listen only to what your inner voice is telling you - and it should be telling you
there is no better time of the year than now to take some risks. So take them.
1-900-990-7814*
VIRGO
This is potentially one of the best days of the year for you, but not in the sense of
getting things done. Because today's new moon falls in the most sensitive area of your
chart, you should withdraw from the world around you a little and start planning for
the coming 12 months. The more you think about things now, the better you will do
later on.
1-900-990-7815*
LIBRA
If you are not 100 per cent sure about what you are about to embark on, you must seek
advice from your closest friends and allies. Today's new moon indicates that they will
guide you in the right direction, but first you have to ask, and then you have to act
upon what they tell you. That part is up to you.
1-900-990-7816*
SCORPIO
If you know what it is that you want - and if you let others know what it is that you
want - there is a very good chance that you will get it today. A new moon in the
career area of your chart will give you the courage and the confidence that you need
to reach out and take the things that you desire - and others will just assume it is
your right to do so.
1-900-990-7817*
SAGITTARIUS
You will have a lot to say for yourself today and much of it will be worth listening
to, but be careful you don't say things that are designed to upset people in positions
of power because they won't hesitate to turn that power against you. Make sure, too,
that all your claims are backed up by the facts. Whatever you do, don't leave yourself
open to ridicule.
1-900-990-7818*
CAPRICORN
If you have been thinking of signing up for a project that will cost you a bit in the
short term but pay off handsomely in the long run, now is the time to commit yourself.
The planets indicate that any investment you make now will reap rich rewards around
the time of your next birthday or just a bit after. Go on and do for it. Don't be so
cautious.
1-900-990-7819*
AQUARIUS
It may seem as if your rivals and enemies have an advantage over you - and, to a large
extent, they do - but today's new moon will give you the courage, as well as the
opportunity, to turn the tables on them. The most important thing to remember is you
must act as if you know you will win. The more confident you look, the less effective
they will be.
1-900-990-7808*
PISCES
Keep on doing what you are doing and don't listen to those people who say you could be
doing it better. The truth is that they are jealous of your skill and the success they
can see is coming your way. The more others try to pick holes in your methods or
techniques, the more you can be certain you are doing the right thing in the right way.

CREAMED TEAM: http://www.nypost.com/sports/26949.htm
By MIKE VACCARO
ATHENS As the end neared, the vanquished Americans were serenaded with
chants of "PUER-to RI-co! PUER-to RI-co!" and they had little choice but to take it in
silence. Some of them stole glances at the scoreboard which announced the astonishing
truth to the 11,560 people gathered inside Helliniko Indoor Arena:
Puerto Rico 92, United States 73.

U.S. CAGERS: THEY GOT BLAME: http://www.nypost.com/sports/26960.htm
ATHENS - The first time, you could blame the referees
and the game officials, because they were the ones who kept putting time back on the
clock, who took the gold medals off American necks, who put the basketball in
Aleksander Belov's hands and gave the Soviet Union that 51-50 victory in 1972. It
hurt, sure. But you could deal with that.

BAN THE IRANIANS NOW!: http://www.nypost.com/sports/26951.htm
ATHENS They cannot stay here, of course, and Jacques Rogge, the head of the
International Olympic Committee, cannot allow them to stay. He can't hope this just
goes away, this bleeding stain on the Athens Games. It isn't going away. It can't. It
shouldn't. It won't.

'DOCTOROFF' BASE WITH OLYMPICS: http://www.nypost.com/sports/26953.htm
ATHENS The presentation was professional, and it was earnest, and it left you
with no doubt that Dan Doctoroff believes that he has spent the last 10 years of his
life on a sacred civic mission, trying to lure the Olympics to New York in 2012. The
city's deputy mayor took his campaign on the road yesterday, filling a Greek
conference with sparkly pictures and elegant prose praising New York City.

OLYMPIC RIGHTS AND WRONGS: http://www.nypost.com/sports/26947.htm
THESE are remarkable times, historical times. An American can
sit at home, turn on his or her TV and watch the death of broadcast journalism. They
can watch the once most respected newspersons become network barkers and corporate
shills.

WRIGHT ON THE MONEY: http://www.nypost.com/sports/mets/26954.htm
WATCHING high lights Tuesday night, David Wright saw clips of
Randy Johnson pitching in Montreal and instantly began the mental calculations. Five
days would be Sunday at Shea. Five days to another chapter in the education of a
phenom.

BATTMAN: PIRATE SHIP: http://www.nypost.com/sports/battman.htm
The Brewers' bullpen ruined a perfect Sunday, but the White Sox's win nudged

BARREN METROS DROP A STINKER: http://www.nypost.com/sports/26970.htm
 By BRIAN LEWIS
Any doubts that Metro- Stars midfielder Amado Guevara is the MLS MVP
should've been erased in last night's 1-0 loss to Dallas. That's because his
importance was underscored not by his performance but by his absence.

HAVEN, Wis. Vijay Singh doesn't enjoy the celebrity of Tiger

golf he is their equal if not better, especially in 2004.

DIMARCO EARNS RYDER CUP SPOT: http://www.nypost.com/sports/26968.htm
 By GEORGE WILLIS
HAVEN, Wis. Chris DiMarco did receive some consolation in losing the 86th

finish eighth in the Ryder Cup points standings with 653.048.

 By GEORGE WILLIS
HAVEN, Wis. Tiger Woods quietly bowed out of the 86th PGA Championship

the day 3-under par, nine strokes behind the leaders, but bogeys on two of his first
four holes never allowed him to generate any kind of momentum. He finished with a
2-under-par 286, marking his 10th straight major without a win.

ISRAELI TAKES HIGH ROAD: http://www.nypost.com/sports/26950.htm
 By LENN ROBBINS
ATHENS Israel's Ehud Vaks could have taken the low road, the one the
Iranian government chose to travel yesterday. He could have cried out about the
absurdity of having his scheduled first-round Olympic judo match scrubbed because his
opponent was forced to forfeit. He could have blasted Arash Mir Esmaili as a coward.

TED'S FAMILY FEUD
By TIM ARANGO
An angry Ted Turner is doing all he can to try to scuttle Time Warner's
negotiations to acquire MGM apparently unable to let go of an 18-year-old grudge
against MGM's controlling shareholder Kirk Kerkorian, The Post has learned.
Turner, a member of Time Warner's board of directors, is working behind the scenes
to try to complicate the media giant's negotiations with the movie studio, sources
said.

MARKET REPORT: http://www.nypost.com/realestate/18620.htm
By ALISON ROGERS
WHENI started this column, I wanted to talk about interest rates. Really. After all,
the Federal Reserve hiked the short-term rate a quarter point this week. That caused
lots of people to wonder what would happen to long-term mortgage rates. Some experts
had been bandying about 7 percent you would have thought that was a magical number
for long-term mortgage rates. But then I called Gregory J. Heym, chief economist of
Brown Harris Stevens, the Manhattan-based brokerage firm. And he points out that
theres a magical 7 percent stat, but hey, its about the economy. The citys economy
grew 7 percent in the first quarter, Heym says. Thats the largest growth rate since
the fourth quarter of 1999. I have to tell you, 7 percent job growth is huge. The
city started to add jobs last year, Heym continues. We had this tremendous boom in
Manhattan real estate over the last five years, and the city lost jobs left and
right. Now you have job growth. In other words, you had b
uyers before, and now you have more people with jobs more potential buyers.
Thursdays 30-year mortgage rate of 5.8 percent (a fourmonth low!) probably wont stop
them. Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

YOUNG NEW YORKERS ARE NOW FINDING EXCITEMENT IN THE BURBS:
http://www.nypost.com/realestate/18621.htm
By LISA KEYS
ANNMARIE BUTLER, 25, and her roommate, Kirsten Leahy, 26, know how to have fun. In the
evenings, they hit the local bars with their friends; on weekends, they like to shop
the boutiques on their street and linger over brunch. Meanwhile, Christine Simon, 29,
and her husband, Eric, 36, own a beautiful, open loft. They love to frequent the bars
on their block, and Christine somewhat sheepishly admits to never cooking. These
four may sound like typical young Manhattanites except theyre not living in
Manhattan, or Brooklyn or even Staten Island. Theyre part of an increasingly younger
generation thats moving out of the city and rockin the suburbs instead. Take Butler,
who shares a three-bedroom $1,800 rental in Rye. Every day, she commutes to Manhattan
for her job at VH1, but in the evenings shes out and about close to home. Were not
sitting up here in Westchester on Saturday nights watching TV, she says. There are
plenty of things to do. Maybe its a part of the grea
t leveling of American culture, a phenomenon that has broughtBlahniks out to the
burbs while ushering Applebees into Manhattan. Perhaps its a function of the
sky-high housing prices in the city. Whatever the reason, towns like Stamford,
Greenwich and Bronxville are rapidly transforming from old-fashioned bedroom
communities into lively mini-cities. And while sleepier suburbs remain familyoriented,
there are increasingly youthful residents in the mix. I think theres a lot more

SPECIALTY LENDERS CAN HELP WHEN YOUR TRADITIONAL BANK SAYS NO:
http://www.nypost.com/realestate/18627.htm
By JULIETTE FAIRLEY
WHEN Maria Villafanes finances spiraled out of control in January 2004, she appealed
to her long-time traditional bank for a consolidation equity loan of $500,000. Her
Fort Greene, Brooklyn, four-family home was worth $1 million, but the bank loan
officer rejected her application, saying her $35,000 credit card debt was too high.
(An irony, given that she needed the money to help pay off her credit cards.) I felt
betrayed because Id been with them for a while now, but they didnt support me or
care about my situation, she says. A month later, the New York City Board of
Education executive assistant resorted to a specialty lender who approved her
refinancing request right away at an 8.35 percent interest rate. I was afraid it
would be a scam but I got immediate help from the beginning to the end. It was the
best decision I ever made, Villafane says. With the proceeds from the refinancing,
Villafane paid off the higher interest credit card debt (which was costing her $90
0 a month in payments) and the $145,000 mortgage on a second property. While her
monthly mortgage payment went up to $4,026 per month from $3,003 she appreciates
the freedom of having consolidated her bills. Villafanes loan is one of many
refinancings. In the second quarter of 2004,
