All Horoscopes: http://web1.nypost.com/cgi-bin/horoscope.pl
ARIES
You will get on well with almost everyone you meet today, but you must not allow
yourself to be fooled into thinking that everyone wants the best for you. On the work
front, especially, be wary of those who promise you the world if you would only do
something for them - they might mean it now, but they will go back on their word later.
1-900-990-7810*
TAURUS
Someone you meet socially will set your heart racing and it may take a long time to
get your rational mind back to normal. Have fun, by all means, but don't take a new
relationship too seriously because there is no guarantee it will develop into
something long-lasting. Enjoy it for what it is - anything more will be a bonus.
1-900-990-7811*
GEMINI
Some things are worth worrying about and some things are not, and in some way or
other, you will learn to tell the difference between them today. Material things, in
particular, won't mean as much to you over the next 24 hours and that's good because
you have been worrying far too much lately about what you own and what you earn.
1-900-990-7812*
CANCER
You will make an instant impression on people today - and a good impression, at that.
Venus in your birth sign takes away the hard edge to your personality that sometimes
makes it difficult for others to approach you and you may be surprised how many people
want to get close to you. Don't turn anyone away - you've enough love to go around.
1-900-990-7813*
LEO
You don't need other people's blessing or approval for what you are planning to do.
All you need is the confidence to start and the courage to follow through until you
have made a success of whatever it is that means so much to you. Even the doubters
will praise you when they see that they were wrong and you were right.
1-900-990-7814*
VIRGO
Your confidence is sky-high at the moment and it will climb even higher over the next
24 hours as Jupiter in your birth sign aspects Venus, planet of love and harmony.
Friendships and group activities will go really well for you now, so get out and about
and see and be seen. Everyone you meet will be inspired by your positive attitude.
1-900-990-7815*
LIBRA
You will be able to charm your way past others' defenses with ease today. Venus, your
ruler, is nicely aligned with Jupiter, planet of luck and good fortune, over the next
24 hours, so if you make friends with the right sort of people, there is no telling
where it might lead, socially or professionally. Get to know some VIPs.
1-900-990-7816*
SCORPIO
This is the ideal day to take a trip of some sort, not for a particular reason, but
for the sheer fun of it. Planetary activity in your fellow water sign of Cancer will
smooth your path wherever you go and whatever you do, so don't limit yourself by
focusing on the things that could go wrong, because it will all go right for you today.
1-900-990-7817*
SAGITTARIUS
Make sure that what you wish for today is what you truly desire because not only will
you get it, but you won't be able to give it back if you decide later on that you
don't want it after all. Also, be careful what promises you make to people in
positions of power because they will hold you to them, come what may.
1-900-990-7818*
CAPRICORN
You don't need to be assertive or aggressive to get what you want. On the contrary,
the current planetary setup indicates that you will gain more on every level if you
take an easygoing approach, both in your personal life and at work. Aim high, by all
means, but don't think you have to climb over others to get to the top.
1-900-990-7819*
AQUARIUS
There are ways to get people to help you without using threats or bribes or other
underhanded methods. The planetary picture is so good at the moment that most people
will respond positively if you approach them the right way - that is, as equals and
partners, not as rivals or enemies. Ask nicely and they will do anything for you.
1-900-990-7808*
PISCES
This is one of the best days of the year for dealing with other people, especially at
home and in one-to-one situations. You don't have to come on strong to make your point
- on the contrary, you will make it better if you say what you have to say calmly and
clearly and let others make their minds up about it. They know you're sincere.

SERENA SWEEPS: http://www.nypost.com/sports/27927.htm
By MARC BERMAN
Serena Williams struck again yesterday, this time in daylight, unveiling an even
skimpier outfit than her denim number from Monday night.
Under a heavy Ashe Stadium sun yesterday, Serena donned the same black knee-high
boots during warm-ups but replaced her denim skirt for black what she termed
"micro-mini shorts" and beat Lindsay Lee-Waters 6-4, 6-3 in a second-round match.
"I didn't consider it skimpy," Williams said.

BOSS NEEDS NO MOTIVATION: http://www.nypost.com/sports/yankees/27935.htm
WHILE his team stretched on the field below him late yesterday afternoon, George

SARATOGA SPRINGS No, that wasn't Smarty Jones favored at 1-9 in the fifth race; it
was Proud Accolade, 2-year-old Pletcher-Velazquez colt running back in allowance
company after breaking maiden first time out here by 71/2 lengths. The son of Yes It's
True sat just off pace, moved up on turn and drew off down final furlong in
workmanlike, if not dazzling, fashion to score by 51/2.

MONTREAL Had the NHL not invested a full year and $1 million in a publicity stunt

YANKEE NOTES John Kruk doesn't think much of Esteban Loaiza. And vice
versa. Kruk, an analyst on ESPN's SportsCenter, claimed Loaiza quit in the 22-0

ex-ballplayer with a dubious handle on today's game.

After Alice London inherited two apartments at 2 Fifth Ave. five years ago, she took
out a $400,000 loan to buy a third apartment next door. London combined the properties
to create a three-bedroom, 3,200-square-foot haven with 3,000 square feet of outdoor
terrace - and a mountain of equity.

ONE thing you see a lot of in Saddle River, N.J.: small homes being torn down to make
way for large homes. On what seems like every street, European-style manors, sprawling
Colonials and huge Tudors have replaced the tiny houses that once dominated this
Bergen County town.

VANITY FAIR INDIAN-born filmmaker Mira Nair spices up her adaptation of the classic
Victorian novel "Vanity Fair" with an exuberantly colorful palette and a subtly modern
sensibility.
But it's the unfailingly contemporary look of Reese Witherspoon who can't help but
look like a spunky 21st-century heroine, even in period garb that gives William
Makepeace Thackeray's 1848 story an up-to-date resonance.

YESTERDAY, in front of the American Legion's Na tional Convention, John Kerry
made his most disgraceful speech since he lied about atrocities to Congress three
decades ago. By making promises he doesn't mean and can't keep, he tried to buy the
votes of American veterans.

AFTER two nights of mild-mannered jabs at John Kerry, the Republican Convention got

LAST night, Dick Che ney said that "Amer ica sees two John Kerry's" and that
Kerry's "liveliest disagreement" is with himself. But that's not Kerry's biggest
problem. His real conundrum is that his voters disagree with one another on almost
every major foreign-policy and terrorism issue. So, no matter what Kerry says, he will
alienate a goodly portion of his voters.
